THE WINE CELLAR

Only a few kilometres from the centre of the little village Bevagna, situated partly on a plain part of the valley and partly on the hill, the vineyard currently spreads over the surface of 4 hectares and holds the typical quality for the area.

The care and the attention by which the vineyard is managed in every part of the cultivation permits the farm La Fonte to every year produce wine with different hints.

Inside the wine cellar, just a few steps away from the vineyard Only a few kilometres from the centre of the little village Bevagna, in Via le Case 11, our sommelier, and also owner, Francesco offers the possibility to generously taste the wine, and if interested, also actively take part in the grape harvest.

BLENDINGS

The grapes cultivated are Sagrantino, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sangiovese farmed according to the pruned-spur cordon-trained form, with a density of implementation that varies from 4 000 to 5 000 wine strains per hectare.

THE TERRITORY

The position of the vineyard is partly on plain land and partly on a hillside and possesses a land rich in clay and structure, besides the favourable natural conditions it also guaranties the vineyard unique organoleptic characteristics which minimises treatment.

OUR WINES

Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG

Obtained from 100% Sagrantino grapes, from which it takes its name. Its powerful structure, remarkable aromatic amplitude and strong tannin made it the King of the Umbrian territory.

The Sagrantino in the “Passito” version. It is the traditional sweet wine, ideal for celebrating holidays.

The prince of the Umbrian territory, Montefalco Rosso D.O.C (AOC) derives predominantly from Sangiovese and partly from Sagrantino and Merlot grapes. A complex wine, however, at the same time versatile to accompany any dish.

Umbria Bianco IGT

 Wine made from 100% Trebbiano Spoletino grapes, with on-skin maceration for one week. Traditional and refined wine. On the palate, there is intensity and persistence with a central core of acidity which defines the finish.

Umbria Rosso IGT

Obtained from Sangiovese, Cabernet and local vine variety, red colour with ruby red reflections make this wine perfect to combine to every meal, from first main courses to second main courses.

Umbria Rosato IGT

Obtained from 100% Sangiovese grapes harvested early, it looks fine and pleasant. At the tasting it is fresh and the nose gives off notes of currants with pleasant floral shades.

Obtained from local wine from the area such as grechetto and trebbiano, fresh and drinkable, releases at taste the aroma of white fruit and hints of honey.
