Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG

An important wine, the intense red colour almost impenetrable, aroma notes of vanilla, dark spices and red fruit. To taste it presents itself as powerful and with a decisive body which combines perfectly with its noteworthy elegance. Food pairs well with roasts, braised meat and game, wonderful with cured meats and matured cheeses.

Technical details

Production area: Bevagna.

Grape varietals: 100% Sagrantino.

Elevation of vineyard: 300 m a.s.l.

Harvest time: Mid October.

Vinification: Fermentation in steel barrels for approximately two weeks on skins.

Ageing: In oak barrel for 40 months.

Colour: Intense red, impenetrable.

Aroma: Clear notes of vanilla, dark spices and overripe fruit.

Taste: Intense and balanced. Pleasant and mature tannin.

Food pairings: Wild game and game, stews and matured cheeses.

Best served temperature: 18/20°C.

Best served: wine is to be decanted at least an hour before serving for best oxygenation.
